Meet the Staff of the
Mechanicsburg Presbyterian Church

The Reverend
Myrtle E. McCall has been the Associate Pastor at MPC since
September, 2000. She is from West Middlesex, PA and is a graduate of
Westminster College at New Wilmington and Yale Divinity School.
Myrtle was ordained on December 11, 1983 and has served at Christ
Presbyterian Church, PA, Greencastle Presbyterian Church, PA, St.
James Presbyterian Church, PA and Chester Presbyterian Church, NY.
Myrtle also served as a chaplain for Presbyterian Homes, Inc. of PA
for seven years prior to her call with MPC. Her family includes two
older brothers, Emmanuel, a retired Baptist minister who resides in
Atlanta, GA with his family, and Timothy, a retired Army Recruiter
who lives in West Middlesex, PA with his wife.

The Reverend Stephen Choi has been
serving as the Associate Pastor for Youth and Young Adults since December,
2007. Originally from Chicago, he is a graduate of the University of
Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Princeton Theological Seminary. Prior to
joining the MPC staff, Stephen served as an associate pastor for three years
in central Illinois and was ordained in 2005. His passion and joy is to
present the Christian faith in ways that everyday people can relate to. He
also enjoys playing and watching sports (especially the Chicago Cubs and the
University of Illinois basketball team), watching movies, reading, and
visiting fun places with his family. Stephen and his wife, Laura, have been
married since May of 2000, and they have two children, Timothy and Ella.

Kathy Wells has
been the Director of Christian Education at MPC since February, 1999. Prior
to that, she served for ten years at the First Presbyterian Church of
Wilkes-Barre. She grew up on a small farm in Western Massachusetts (which
explains her cow collection that takes up two entire cupboards in her
house). Her first contact with Presbyterianism was at Maryville College in
Maryville, Tennessee. She is now a certified Christian educator with a
passion for mission and mission trips. Kathy is married to David Hoover, and
they each have two children and two grandchildren, and way too many pets.

Suzanne Klinedinst,
Director of Music, has directed the music ministry at MPC since 1984. She
has a B.S. degree in Music Education from Lebanon Valley College and a
Master of Music in Organ Performance from Kent State University. Suzanne has
been organist/director in New Cumberland, Columbia, and Penbrook. Her family
consists of three children, Karen, Michael and Deborah, four grandchildren,
two ex-racing greyhounds and her husband, Richard. Richard assists in the
music department as the handbell choir director and director of the MPC
Winds. Growing up in Palmyra, PA, Suzanne says: I played church with my
dolls in elementary school and I am still "playing church."

Connie J. Sutton
is the Office Manager of MPC and began serving in 1976. She grew up in
Mechanicsburg and graduated from Mechanicsburg Area Senior High School and
Goldey Beacom Junior College at Wilmington, DE. She and her husband, Herb,
have one son, Jeff, who resides in Los Angeles. Connie's joys include
gardening, the outdoors and watching movies.

Jennifer Arndt
has been the Secretary at MPC since April, 2006. Originally from
northeastern Pennsylvania, she is a graduate of King's College at
Wilkes-Barre and relocated to central PA in 1998. Jennifer and her husband,
John, have been married since August, 2000, and they have two children,
Ethan and Olivia. In her spare time, Jennifer enjoys reading, watching
movies and spending time with her family.

Don Hopper has
been the church Treasurer since 1980. Don received a B.A in Economics and
Accounting from Westminster College, New Wilmington, PA. Don's
corporate career was with Verizon's accounting and data processing department. After many transfers,
he and his family settled in the Central PA area, which they have liked. He
and his wife, Ginny, both enjoy traveling, their home, and meeting new
people. They are also active in community organizations. Don and Ginny have
two grown children, Jeff and Jodi.

Randy Valvo has
been the MPC Custodian since January, 2008. He and his wife, Beth, moved to
the area from Connecticut in 2007. They have four children, all out of
college, and two grandchildren. Prior to MPC, Randy worked as the facility
manager at a church in Cheshire, CT. Randy says: It is a privilege to serve
with the staff, Property & Maintenance Committee and the many caring people
who serve here at MPC. |
