SOCIAL GROUPS
The activities of the church's social groups vary from year to year.
The age ranges are not "set in stone", but all groups are eager to
welcome new people. If you are interested in participating in any
activity, you are more than welcome! Watch The Cornerstone
and bulletins (See the Newsletter web page
for links) for details on all the social happenings of MPC. |
|
Happily Ever After
is the newest group for couples in their 20's - 40's with or without
children. They plan a fun schedule of activities for couples and
families like snow-tubing, DelGrosso Water Park, bowling and Valentine
luncheons. Join them as they grow together. |
Happy Hikers
- This
group of outdoor enthusiasts enjoy walking and hiking trips to nearby
state parks and trails each Tuesday morning. They also do camping, bike
hikes and canoeing. |
|
Married With Children
- is a
social group that gets together at will. We have had sweetheart dinners
and white elephant events. We have a wide range of ages and interests,
but the common thread is we have children - from elementary age to post
high school. |
Mix 'n Mingles
- is for the pre-Pep Setters strictly social gatherings for couples and
singles. They meet monthly, usually on Saturdays, for a wide variety of
enjoyable activities such as Senators' games, theatre, sing-alongs, etc. |
|
Pep Set -
This active group of retirees meets the third Wednesday of the month for
catered luncheons/picnics, theatre and programs. They do not meet over
the summer and the winter months. |
Que Pasa
-
This social group of pre-retiree couples has done a wide variety of
activities on an "as the spirit moves them" basis. They have taken
trips to Nissley's Vineyard, road rallies, Senators' games, etc. |
|
Singles Group
-
This
varied group of singles comes together to provide a supportive, caring
and loving atmosphere for each other. They gather monthly for fun and
fellowship doing such things as plays, dinners, concerts, bowling,
hiking and more ... |
|
|
Book Club -
This group meets monthly to discuss the book of the month on the fourth
Thursday of each month at 7:00 PM in the church parlor. |
Love Quilters - The
quilters gather the third Tuesday of each month at 9:00 AM to make
quilts that will be personalized and given to new babies born into our
church family. |
|
Prayer Shawl Group - Shawls are
lovingly and prayerfully crocheted for our members in ill health by this
group on the fourth Thursday of the month at 7:00 PM. |
