What’s Good MPC
There’s always something good going on at MPC. Here are a few things, something for every
day of the week.
Monday – Deacons meeting, Session committee meetings, Session
meetings. A lot of the work of the
church is set in motion through these meetings (and it’s a great time of fellowship
and laughter too).
Tuesday – Tuesday Nights @ MPC are a time to get together for
food, fellowship, children’s choir and a time to learn more about how MPC is
engaged in the world.
Wednesday – Rehearsals for the Chancel Choir and Bells of
Celebration. They bring beautiful music
to our worship services.
Thursday – Pastor Kathryn’s Bible Study. I love meeting with this group as we review
the previous Sunday’s sermon and dive deeper into the readings for the upcoming
Sunday.
Friday - November 4 is the Troop 80 Camp Out for Food and
November 25 is the beginning of the Christmas Tree sale. Our support of Troop
80 is just one of many ways that MPC reaches out to the surrounding
community.
Saturday – This is the day I usually prepare for teaching the
3rd through 5th graders on Sunday morning. The Whirl
Lectionary curriculum from Sparkhouse makes preparation easy and it’s fun for
the children (and adults).
And of course, Sunday – Wonderful worship,
powerful preaching, marvelous music, fantastic fellowship. It’s the best day of the week.
