CHURCH NEWS

Needed: Volunteer delivery persons for Mechanicsburg Meals on Wheels, especially on Wednesdays.  You may volunteer for one or more times a month; time involved is approximately from 10:30 AM - 12 Noon.  If interested, please call Norma White (766-6914) or Andrea Singiser (766-5076).

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION

Summer Sunday School continues  with two classes for adults:  Pastor Kathryn Johnston’s class on The Screwtape Letters in Fellowship Hall, and Dave Dinger’s class on Christian parenting that will meet in the Conference Room.  The children’s class will meet in Lower Fellowship Hall. Please join us, even if you have not registered for a class previously.

MISSION

Giant Gift Cards – Orders will be taken next Sunday, August 1, for Giant gift cards.  If you want to place a standing order, or change your existing standing order, you may do so next week.  The 5% proceeds from the sale of these gift cards will go to support the 2011 adult mission trip.

Cumberland Vista (CROSS) needs your help.  Each week Oak Grove donates a variety of fresh produce to our friends at Cumberland Vista.  The food that is donated helps Cumberland Vista save on grocery bills, but preparing it is more than the small staff can handle.  Help is needed peeling, slicing and dicing this bounty to freeze for future use.  If you can spare 1-2 hours on a Wednesday morning and would like to help, or if you would be able to take food home to work on, please call Luanne (432-2822) to make arrangements.  This does not have to be a weekly commitment.  One-time-only volunteers are also appreciated.

SOCIAL GROUPS

Adopt-A-Highway pickup is scheduled Tuesday, July 27.  Meet at the church at 8:30 AM.  We need at least eight people.   Please contact the Sharers (761-2518 or ljshare@verizon.net) if you can help.

Married with Children Picnic and Pool Party -  Join us on Saturday, August 14, at 2 PM at 85 Honey Road, Dillsburg.  There will be games, swimming and lots to eat.  Bring a covered dish and a drink to share.  RSVP to Bob and Barb Bell (350-4962 or wwolfey@aol.com).
