God of Shalom,

You are a God who suffers with us, you stand next to us and walk with us through times of grief. We lift up civilians who live in areas of global conflict, whose lives have been disrupted, families torn apart, and communities shattered by the violence and unfairness of war.

As we keep our fast, we are reminded of all the things they go without: food, water, fuel, communication, and safety.
May your peace that surpasses all human understanding surround all civilians in war-torn places as they wait for a day when all war shall cease.

We pray for peace.
