Connecting to God… Connecting to others...
Confirmation Class is preparation for full church membership. It includes Sunday morning classes, service work, and retreats. Each student drafts a personal statement of faith during their eighth grade year and is received by the Session before publicly affirming their baptismal vows on Confirmation Sunday.
Using Sparkhouse's Colaborate: Presbyterian Confirmation and Theocademy's Confirmation curriculum, students and their leaders "colaborate" with each other as they explore Presbyterian doctrine and history as well as the Old & New Testament. The class meets in the basement.
We meet in the upstairs for breakfast without an agenda. It is a time to catch up and check in with each other, discuss topics of interest, plan and organize mission outings/trips, think of ways to engage with the rest of the MPC family, and whatever else might bubble up as we share a meal and a little time together.
Classes meet Sundays, 9:35-10:35 am, September-May, in MPC's Student & Mission Center.
PYC is a ministry to the youth of MPC as well as in Mechanicsburg and the surrounding areas. If you are in 6th-12th grade we look forward to meeting you.
We meet on the fourth Sunday of the month at the Student & Mission Center (304 East Keller Street) from 6-7:30.
We have something going on throughout most of the year from game nights to holiday cookie baking for college students and Mission Trips. All teens are welcome. Spread the word!
