Assistant Director of Music

Mechanicsburg Presbyterian Church (MPC) is seeking an individual trained in piano, organ, and choral directing to serve as our part-time Assistant Director of Music. This individual assists the Director of Music in the fulfillment of the church's music program. The duties and responsibilities include directing the choirs (Chancel, Women's, Youth, and Children's) three times per month during worship, playing the organ and or piano for worship service one time per month, conducting or assisting with choir rehearsals, attending staff and worship coordination meetings, and selecting music for worship. Opportunities are also available to play for weddings and funeral services. In addition, this individual assists the Director of Music in areas that may include but are not limited to, special instrument instruction, special music rehearsals, choir recruitment, and serving as substitute for the Director of Music. These duties are normally performed during a 20-hour work week.
