Community Dinners
About Community Dinners
-
We prepare and serve a free dinner about four times a year.
-
One of our dinners is always on Thanksgiving Day with the traditional menu including; turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, pumpkin pie, and more.
-
The menus for the rest of the year vary; but usually include an entre, vegetables, and/or salad, drinks, and homemade desserts.
-
Community Dinners are open to all in our church family and the general public, no reservations are required.
-
This is a time for fellowship and food with our neighbors.
-
The meal is free. If you wish to make a contribution toward expenses, there is an opportunity to make a free will donation.
-
Dress - casual.
-
There is no program.
Next Community Dinner is February 25, 2012.

Thanksgiving Dinner Update
This was the sixth consecutive year that MPC served the community a free Thanksgiving Dinner, and was the 18th time such a meal has been prepared and served. Over 225 meals were served between noon and 3 PM, and dozens of MPC members participated in many ways: donating desserts; shopping; advanced food preparation; carving turkeys; set-up and decorating; serving; waiting on tables; or simply visiting and offering hospitality to our diverse group of guests.
Faye and Tom Atchison cooked fourteen turkeys which were donated by church members. Paulus Farm Market donated table gourds, onions and 100 pounds of potatoes. MPC's efficient kitchen crew had the delicious food prepared on time, and was cleaned up and done by around 4 PM.
Suzy Brenner took over the reins of organizing the meal, and through her list-making and leadership, the MPC participants moved almost as gracefully as Faith in Motion.
